Ghouls

Ghouls, mortals that consume the blood of kindreds, while still maintaining their human essence they receive a part of the kindreds power, strength, reflexes.fortitude. Yet the can mantain their human ties, they no longer age if they consume the blood of kindred regularly but if they are deprived from it, they age rapidly looking like corpses until death takes them, although consuming kindred vitae begins the fatal addiction, he can develop the kindred frenzy for blood but a Ghoul has not the Beast with in. Vampires have Ghouls as bodyguards and thralls to do their bidding, they are of vital importance if one needs or must keep a link with the world. Since Ghouls are immune to daylight they can protect their master while they slumber.

The role of a Ghoul will always be of that a protector for his kindred master, but the fate of a Ghoul is linked directly with that of his master, if the cainite meets final death, the Ghoul is left without his "FIX" so to say, and he will do anything in his power to get more kindred vitae for if he does not, then death will find him soon enough.

  1. Sorry for not posting yesterday, had a massive hang over and was in bed almost all day long. Hope you like the Ghouls, they are an essential part of a Vampire since they can move in broad daylight and they are a link with the world. A powerful tool indeed.

  2. Good to see the differences of Ghoul in Storytelling and D&D.
have you thought about doing some research in real world lore on those beasts?

  5. Oh, I always thought that ghouls were just another type of zombie or something.

    Interesting.

  6. In the Nintendo Game D&D Pool Of Radiance, the ghouls would drain a level of experience from you every time they hit you. Was a game-stopper to encounter a pack of ghouls, always had to go back and re-level.

  7. @Pendragon well Ghouls can be found mostly in literature being the most famous Renfield, although in the Novel of Dracula he´s never seen ingesting the blood of Dracula but being a loyal servant (Loyal until he betrays Dracula and is killed by hym...) he fits the characteristic of a Vampires Ghoul.

  8. @Tenko well, in most RPG games undead drain lvs so to give the player the feeling that undead are unnatural and are an abomination on life, so much that they drain part of the living energies around them, and so being hit by an undead sucks since you lose str, con, dex, or a few Lvs.

  26. Interesting description. According to this, ghouls seem to be everything in reality that ancient civilizations wanted to be: a lot of them believed they would inherit characteristics and traits like these from drinking the blood of their victims.

I follow and support those who do likewise.
